Rickmansworth

This young family wanted to have a cohesive design scheme flowing from the kitchen to the dining area and through to the family room. Using a particular favourite piece of artwork as inspiration, a saffron yellow accent colour was used in the kitchen as a glass splashback which lifted the whole room and followed through into the rest of the space. A cheeky single saffron coloured chair with beige stitching sits among the other neutral beige chairs with saffron stitching. The soft, velvety fabric was specifically chosen as it is easily cleanable and stainproof, perfect for dining. The square wild walnut table seats 12 people comfortably and was commissioned especially for large family gatherings. Accent cushions completed the look in the family room.

The entrance lobby used to be a collection of shoes and bags on the floor and a small coat hanger was overcrowded. A bespoke built-in unit was made reflecting the family’s love of Swiss chalets using the same oak as the floor for seating and accents with a muted background. Specific baskets and cubby holes keep the space neat and clutter-free.
